WORST IDEA 5/9/10: Breakfast in bed

While it sounds like a good idea and mom pretends to like it, breakfast in bed on Mother's Day must be one of the more ridiculous holiday traditions. The concept of making mom breakfast is, of course, a positve one, but why she should have to eat it uncomfortably propped up by pillows in bed remains a mystery. A messy and greasy meal, breakfast does not belong in the bedroom. Do you want bacon grease or syrup on your pillows? Do you think mom really appreciates the sink-full of dishes just so she can not have to leave her bedroom for a few minutes? If you love mom, take her to brunch or make her a meal and serve it at the table.
