While most parents -- you know, the responsible oness -- won't let their 16-year-old daughter stay out past 11 o'clock, one family decided to let their daughter sail solo around the world. Never mind the danger of letting a teenager attempt this ridiculous and unnecessary feat, Jessica Watson's parents wanted her to have all the glory associated with becoming the youngest person to circumnavigate the world by herself. This seems more important than school (she basically missed a year) and well worth the risk of drowning.
